Multiply the ex-VAT amount by the rate to get the VAT, then add it. Example: 10,000 DA × 19% = 1,900 DA VAT, so VAT-inclusive = 11,900 DA.

How do I extract VAT from a VAT-inclusive amount?

Divide the VAT-inclusive amount by (1 + rate). At 19%: ex-VAT = VAT-inclusive ÷ 1.19, and the difference is the VAT.

Can I deduct the VAT I paid on purchases?

Yes, if you are a registered VAT payer: input VAT (on purchases) is offset against output VAT (on sales), provided you hold a valid invoice quoting the supplier's NIF tax number.

Which services did the 2026 Finance Law move to the reduced 9% rate?

Article 53 of the 2026 Finance Law explicitly widens the 9% reduced-rate list: rail and bus passenger transport, private education and vocational training, medical acts, hospital lodging and catering, and the construction and sale of new-build housing.
