In this first phase, only documents issued by five sectors (Interior, Justice, Higher Education, Education, Vocational Training); documents destined for France are already exempt under article 36 of the judicial-cooperation protocol.

Are the tourist allowance and the exit tax linked?

Yes, partly: the exchange-right file for land travel requires proof of paying the fuel tax among its documents, per Bank of Algeria instruction n° 07-2026.

How many times a year can the tourist allowance be used?

Only once per calendar year (1 January to 31 December), for a trip of at least 7 days, and the amount does not carry over from one year to the next.

How is the exit tax paid, and does it rise with more exits?

Yes, it's progressive by number of exits on the same day: 1,000 DA for one exit, 5,000 DA for two, 10,000 DA for three, and 25,000 DA for four or more, payable in advance at the tax office or online.
