About this tool

Every Algerian resident has an annual exchange right for travel abroad: €750 for adults (19 and over) and €300 for minors (12 to under 19, up to two children per family), paid once per calendar year (1 January to 31 December) in euros or an equivalent convertible currency. Under Bank of Algeria instruction No. 07-2026 of 13 July 2026 (in force from 19 July 2026, which repeals instruction 05-2025), this right is now delivered via an international payment card or a card dedicated to the exchange right, no longer handed out in cash.

Set your family's composition to see the total amount and its dinar countervalue at the daily-updated official rate, along with the key conditions: once per calendar year, a round trip of at least 7 days, and scriptural payment of the countervalue at your bank no later than 7 working days before departure.

The card is strictly personal and non-transferable (minimum 3-year validity), issued against a foreign-currency account the beneficiary opens at the bank, and holding a dinar bank account is itself a condition for the exchange right; the required file includes a round-trip ticket (or a land-travel tax receipt), a valid passport, a copy of its first page, a copy of the visa if applicable, and proof of income.
