An employee affiliated to social security for at least 3 continuous years, on a permanent (CDI) contract, laid off for economic reasons (not resignation or disciplinary dismissal), registered as a job-seeker and resident in Algeria with no other professional income.

How is the coverage duration calculated?

2 months per year of seniority, with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 36 months. The duration is split into four equal phases at a degressive rate.

What is the reference salary?

It is the average contributory monthly salary of the last 12 months, plus the SNMG, divided by two: (12-month average + SNMG) ÷ 2.

What is the monthly amount?

Reference salary × the rate (100% in phase 1, then 80%, 60% and 50%), not below 75% of the SNMG (18,000 DA in 2026) nor above 3× the SNMG (72,000 DA).

Does the calculation differ from CNAC's official simulator?

The method is identical to the official simulator, but the latter still uses the old SNMG (20,000 DA); we apply the 2026 SNMG (24,000 DA), which raises the floor and cap accordingly.

How does it differ from the unemployment allowance (منحة البطالة)?

The CNAC unemployment-insurance benefit is for employees who lost their job for economic reasons after contributing. The unemployment allowance targets first-time job-seekers (18,000 DA) via ANEM – a separate tool.
