How is a university teacher's salary calculated?

Base treatment = grade index × 45 DA (index point). The décret 24-107 allowances (teaching experience, scientific qualification, supervision, documentation) are added for the gross, then CNAS (9%) and IRG are deducted for the net.

What are the index and index point?

Each grade has an index (e.g. Professor 1680, Assistant lecturer A 1255) set by décret 24-103. Multiplied by the index-point value (45 DA), it gives the base treatment. A team-leader senior post adds an index bonus.

Which allowances are included?

Teaching experience (7% of the base treatment per échelon), scientific qualification (0–60% by grade; the Assistant receives none), supervision (25–85%), and documentation (fixed 4,000–25,000 DA). All from décret 24-107.

Is the performance bonus included?

It's optional: enter your rate (0–40%). The bonus is quarterly (base treatment × rate × 3), with 9% then 10% IRG withheld; the result is smoothed over the month. Leave 0 for the statutory salary only.

Which deductions apply?

CNAS social security (9% borne by the teacher) and IRG (salary scale with the 40% abatement). The employer additionally pays 26% CNAS, not deducted from the salary.

Is the result accurate?

It's an estimate based on décrets 24-103 / 24-107 (effective 1 January 2024). Not included, lacking an official scale: the geographic-zone allowance, family allowances, and administrative senior posts (rector, vice-rector, dean, department head). Check your payslip.
