Where does this criterion sit in the full grid?

Professional experience is criterion 5 (0–3 points) of the grid: field/specialty fit (0.25–2), degree distinction (0.5–1), date of the degree (0–2), scientific works (0–8: publications ≤5 and communications ≤3), experience (0–3) and the selection-committee interview (0–4 since 2024).

Does pre-doctorate experience count?

Teaching in higher-education institutions counts even during the doctorate (with a certificate from the qualified authority stating the nature of the teaching). Other-sector teaching and management positions only count after the required degree.

What does "capped at" mean?

Each experience type has its own statutory ceiling: once reached, extra years or semesters of that type add nothing. The teaching cap (3 points) then the whole-criterion cap (3 points) apply on top.

Why do practicals count per year and not per semester?

That is the decree's text in the Official Journal (JO 41/2022): 0.25 point per academic year for practical work, capped at 1.5 points. Some circulating infographics show it per semester — that is inaccurate.

How are tied candidates ranked?

Per article 5 of the 2022 decree, in order: the scientific-publications score, then the higher-education teaching-experience score, then the interview score. If still tied: candidates with disabilities able to perform the duties, then the older candidate, then family situation.

How is this different from the general recruitment-points calculator?

The general calculator applies the 2020 inter-ministerial decree for degree-based recruitment across the civil service (30 points). This one applies the higher-education sector's own grid for the maître-assistant rank — renamed from "maître assistant class B" to "maître assistant" by the 2024 amendment.

Lecture semesters (higher education)

0.25 point per semester, capped at 1.5 points.

Practical-work (TP) years

0.25 point per academic YEAR (not per semester), capped at 1.5 points.

Teaching years in other sectors

0.5 point per year, capped at 1.5 points — counted only after the required degree, inside the teaching cap (3 points).

Management-position years after the degree

0.25 point per year in public institutions and administrations and/or public or private bodies, capped at 1.5 points — after the required degree.
