How does the university orientation tool work?

You enter your BAC stream and average, and the tool shows the university programs whose admission threshold is below your average. You can search nationwide or within your wilaya's university.

What is an admission threshold (seuil)?

It is the lowest average actually admitted to the program last year (2025 session). If your average is higher, your chances are good, but it is not a guarantee: thresholds change every year with demand and available seats.

Are the results official?

No. They are indicative and based on the 2025 thresholds. Official orientation and choice submission happen exclusively on the national platform orientation-esi.dz of the MESRS.

General average or weighted average?

Some fields (science & technology, maths-computing, nature sciences, medicine, languages, architecture) are not ranked on the general average but on a weighted average that emphasizes key subjects. Enter those subject grades under "Refine" for a more precise estimate.

How does admission to medicine, pharmacy and dentistry work?

These fields use a national ranking: a national minimum average is fixed after all choices are processed. The figures shown here are the 2025 national thresholds (e.g. 16.65 for medicine), computed on the weighted average of natural sciences.

Why don't some programs show up for me?

Each stream grants access to specific domains. Only the scientific and technical streams (Sci Exp, Maths, TM) give access to the scientific, technical and medical domains, while the literary, social and economic domains are open to all streams. ENS teacher schools also require an interview.

How it works

Pick your BAC stream and enter your general average.
The tool filters the fields open to your stream per the orientation circular, and compares your average to each field's admission threshold.
For weighted-average fields (sciences, medicine, languages, architecture), enter the subject grades for a more precise estimate.
Fields whose threshold is below your average are marked "you can enter." Results are indicative, based on the 2025 thresholds.
